Bulletin Guidelines
Please click here to read about the latest changes regarding the bulletin and its format.
For anyone who uses the bulletin as a means of communication for the greater parish...THIS INFORMATION IS FOR YOU.
We are asking all those who are involved with the bulletin in one way or another to respect the following guidelines. Due to the length of the weekly bulletin and in an attempt to respect our folks who work on the bulletin each week as well of those who submit articles, we have put the following guidelines together.
We ask you to please take a moment and read it carefully, perhaps even post it on your refrigerator!
At this time, I would like to reiterate the information we receive about your ministry is "most important" to all of us here on staff. Please help us get this pertinent information out to our community by respecting these guidelines.
We appreciate each and every one of you and "thank you" in advance for your partnership.
- All articles must be received at the rectory and posted to the attention of Bonnie.
- Information must be received NO LATER than noon on Friday the week before. Example: if you want your article in the bulletin for June 26-27th, I would need to receive it here at the rectory no later than noon Friday, June 18th.
- Please do not connect with Helen regarding the bulletin. She is kind enough to type and format each week's bulletin and does a superb job making each bulletin a creative masterpiece. For all inquiries regarding the bulletin, please connect with Bonnie.
- For your convenience you can email me your information: bulletin@visitationchurch.org or bonnie_sepich@wamail.net, fax your article: 474-8378, drop your information off in the mail slot at the rectory, or stop by for a visit.
- Any information received after the deadline will not make it into that week's bulletin. It will be put in the folder for the following week. We regret any inconvenience involving time dated materials.
- All inserts as well as articles need to be received by the above mentioned deadline. We regret that there can be no exceptions to this. If your insert can be put in the main body of the bulletin, that is where we would prefer it to be. Inserts will be negotiable.
- If needed, your article may be edited. All pertinent information regarding your event will be put in the bulletin. If your article is lengthy, we will do a "lead in" advertising your event and giving specific information in the main body of the bulletin. Then with the added information you have given us, we will type it out on an extra sheet that will have other lead in articles on it, this information can then be found as a run off on the back table in the Church or on the Church bulletin board. We will post in the bulletin where more information can be found regarding your article. This way, we will have fewer inserts and yet we will have much more information going out to those who are interested.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please give me a call @ 473-4960. I will be happy to hear from you.
Take care and God bless,
Bonnie Sepich
IMPORTANT BULLETIN INFORMATION…PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Coming in March, PAGE ONE of our parish bulletin will have a new look.
We will no longer be putting the Daily Readings/Mass Intentions and the What's Happening Column in the bulletin on a weekly basis. Instead, at the end of each month, we will provide a "Monthly Calendar Insert" for all the important events along with all the daily readings/Mass Intentions on the reverse side. We will provide additional copies of this insert on the back tables in the Church throughout the month. We hope that you will find an important place in your home to post this information.
We realize that this will be quite a change for us, but we are trying to eliminate the many inserts that you find in our weekly bulletin and we ask you for your assistance in this. For those of you who use the bulletin as a means of parish communication, please keep your articles brief and to the point.
The BULLETIN DEADLINE remains the same - Noon on Friday the week before or 8 days in advance. NOTHING AFTER THE FRIDAY NOON DEADLINE WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THAT WEEK'S BULLETIN. This will apply to all the time related articles that we receive each week. ALL articles and / or inserts MUST be submitted to Bonnie Sepich by the Friday noon deadline. You can drop them off at the rectory or email attachments to me at bulletin@visitationchurch.org or bonnie_sepich@wamail.net. Please do not call or email Helen Sutherland with bulletin information. We will save time and energy if you send your information directly to me. I ask that you respect the above guidelines and I look forward to working with you to make our Sunday bulletin more reader friendly. I thank you in advance for your cooperation and I promise you mine.
Respectfully Yours, Bonnie Sepich, bulletin editor
